    Fergie @ MnM

    Sunday, April 18th, 2010

I managed to squeeze some time this weekend to head down to MuttsNMittens. There I got to know about Fergie. Fergie initially arrived with a dry flaky coat covered in scabs and as you can probably tell, not very happy. Under the care of the shelter staff, she has recovered well. They warned me she was a strong girl, and strong she was indeed. Her headbutts are not for the faint-hearted. She is extremely people affectionate but will need a firm and strong hand for obedience. Alas when I wanted to bring her out for a run, the heavens opened up and I had to shoot her in her kennel enclosure (which is quite big with an outdoor run area). I so want to go back next week to see if I can get some outdoor shots of this lovely girl!

    Front view… back view..

Like a lady, she always crosses her legs when she sits.

As always, my favourite shot is last. ;)

If you think you can give this girl a home, call Mutts n Mittens at +65 6583 7371 / 6583 7372. Do note that she may not get along well with other dogs.

    Junior@ Hort Park

    Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Junior’s shoot was actually scheduled on the 4th but we were rained out. Turns out it was a good thing as the rescheduled shoot turned out to be a fabulous day with light cloud cover :) Meeting him for the first time he looked like any happy, young and energetic shi tzu. I was right on two of those counts, turns out he was already 10. I seriously could not believe it from looking at how alert and sprightly he was. Let the pictures do the talking :)

How did he stay so young? Maybe from all the love showered on him by his mom (and grandma).

He still manages to look good even while acting goofy.

Here he is trying to give a ‘paw’ to him mom. I think at this point he was kinda tired. I love how he still tried though :D

I leave you with my favorite which happens to be his money shot :) Handsome fella for a senior no?

    Dorian and Faye: Caturday II

    Saturday, April 10th, 2010

I spent the last weekend photographing my friend’s 2 growing dustballs. :D They are nearing their full adult size soon but still have their kittenish playfulness about them.

One rare occasion where I could get both of them together, quietly…

A quick lesson in perspective courtesy of Faye.. 24 mm vs 85mm; notice how the wide angle exaggerates the nose-to-ear distance. :) While it works well for animal portraits, humans might be a bit touchier when they look ‘weirder’.

Faye in one of her classic poses. :D Dorian on the right, none too amused.

Dorian always seems to have this evil, plotting face that makes you think he is planning to kill you at some point…

I wonder how my friend sleeps at night… :D

But truth be told, he is still a big softie.

And while Faye is not the most glamorous of ladies…

She is undoubtedly still irresistibly cute. :D

One last portrait of the pretty girl :D (I should shoot squares more often).
