Delphi, Rotty and Gong-Gong

More adoptable are looking for homes over at Mutts n Mittens!

First up is Rotty who was abandoned and found she was very friendly and playful but will need proper training to make sure she behaves properly.

She was quite interested in the lens at first but quickly got bored of it. Still she is quite a poser too

Next up a mastiff called Gong-Gong(means slow-witted). While he does look like his name he is no slouch on the love department

Who can resist that smooshed and silly face

Still he can look dignified if required.

But of course he really is just a big goof ball eh?

And now sweet Delphi. The first thing she does is flop down and ask for belly rubs..

And if you stop she will ask for more in her special way..

Its hard to say no to her Especially when she does her Corgi imitation

After you rub her belly long enough she will go into a that natural dog high..

Finally managed to get her to sit up for her money shot

Hope she finds a forever home soon!

A happy new year to one and all! Hope you all enjoyed yourselves over this long weekend. I certainly spent most of it catching up on rest, eating lots of great food with friends and family and finally having more time to do more shooting. Went down to Mutts N Mittens again

Holly a boarding resident that hung around the reception area. He decided to retire after a few treats.

Then I also met Missy who is now very happy wither her new parents

Out behind there was Nereus garding the table.

I also met Cookie who is looking for his forever home! If you think you can commit the time and love or know somone who can do drop by the shelter to find out more

Its been a long while since I visited the shelter. Most of the adopible dogs are still in quarantine so I couldnt bring them out for a shoot.

Of course after that it was time to give the dogs some attention!

Dogathon 2009

I had the pleasure of covering Dogathon 09 organized by the Rotary Club of Tanglin. What more could you ask for than a warm sunny day with lots and lots of dogs? This was not just a walk for fun though as the benefits were going towards Noah’s Ark CARES .

Maad and Hungry

To clarify, I was not insane but was a little hungry at the event known as MAAD . I was there to catch up with old friends and ended up meeting Candy who owns WhiteDogBobby. Her site is named after Bobby who sadly passed away last year on 11th September. Her 2 other dogs Hungry and Yuki were there with her at the bazaar and they were quite the show dogs Hungry especially seemed to know that he had that special charm.. My apologies to yuki for not taking enough photos of her, perhaps next time ok?

Max: Its’ A Dog’s Life

Turns out that it can be a pretty good life if you are a dog, certainly helps if your ‘parents’ love you to bits too

Max’s shoot was postponed about 3 times due to a combination of unpredictable weather and the extremely busy schedules of his parents who only could make it at specific times. On the day where it finally cleared up a little for us to shoot at the Botanical Gardens, it decided to rain about 1 hour into it cutting our time there a little short. Moving back to his house was not a bad idea though as there were many interesting locations about the house.

We started the day in the lush open fields of the Botanical Gardens with some cloud cover which soon progressed into a drizzle. Not before I got Max all nice and worked up for a few action shots.

On the drive back to his territory he promptly zonked out and changed the CD track to “Home by Micheal Buble”. Might not be a co-incidence heh..

We then went up to his room. He has the most awesome ‘bed’ which was recycled from an old office chair I believe.

Soon we moved on to the couch outside…he can be quite a goofball at times too..

Max, Teaser

Apologies for the lack of activity on this place but its been a crazy few weeks with all the projects and deadlines. Here is a quick teaser for an absolutely fun session I had with Max whose shoot was post-poned 3 times due to the weather! The wait was definately worth it though and it was loads of fun shooting him.

After 1 long month of bad weather and crazy deadlines I managed to squeeze out some time to head on down to the shelter to exercise my 5D and 70-200 And my 17-40 too of course.. As always click on each image for a higher res

I met up with Zara who was with her foster family. She is prone to epileptic seizures due and has a weak heart which excerbates the problem. Kudos to the family for taking such good care of her thus far

And a handsome cocker who i totally forgot the name :O

I then caught up with Pickles who was adopted from there together with her playmate TouFu !

Valentines with Holly part 2

Valentines with Holly part 1

Last week I had the pleasure of covering another dog party over Valentine’s Day for an adorable dachie called Holly. As her mom is a dedicated volunteer of Noah’s Ark CARES , she requested that all presents be made as donations to the organization so guests could have fun and do a good deed too What her mom was not aware of though was that her friends had contacted me also and were planning on giving her a surprise present and asked me to do an album for her and her dogs.

I’m happy to report she was clueless until we sprung it on her The rest of this blog will be dedicated to the other furry happenings at the party

Picture intensive so click the link below for the full post. It was a very hot day but the dogs certainly had a fun time socializing and sniffing around! I rented a 35/1.4 for the event just too see if its suitable for my shooting style (and to fully utilize the full frame sensor!) Here are quick snaps of some of the guests whom you might recognize from an earlier post

One special guest was a dog called Batman who is born with a nervous disorder that leaves him more or less unable to coordinate his limb movement. The end result is that he moves around by wiggling his body around. His mom took care of him as a puppy and he is now 4. Tremendous amount of dedication there.

Here we have Goldie a very senoir dog who is almost blind. He still manged to have some fun though he liked to stake out the water bowl

And here he is demonstrating the wonderful bokeh of the 35/1.4 @1.8

And whats a party without food? Here is the spread of food for the dogs(except the cupcakes at the top) kindly sponsored by US Doggie Bakery. They specialize in making human-type food thats safe for your dogs to eat. Its also probably wayy healthier than commercial kibble since there are no preservatives or additives.

And of course a pink cake for the birthday girl

As you can see holly’s mom was so not expecting the double celebration.

That lady feeding holly happens to be the boss of US Doggie Bakery Holly is just interesting in that biscuit..
