Delphi, Rotty and Gong-Gong

More adoptable are looking for homes over at Mutts n Mittens!

First up is Rotty who was abandoned and found she was very friendly and playful but will need proper training to make sure she behaves properly.

A little bit of abstract rottie

She was quite interested in the lens at first but quickly got bored of it. Still she is quite a poser too

Next up a mastiff called Gong-Gong(means slow-witted). While he does look like his name he is no slouch on the love department

Who can resist that smooshed and silly face

Still he can look dignified if required.

But of course he really is just a big goof ball eh?

And now sweet Delphi. The first thing she does is flop down and ask for belly rubs..

And if you stop she will ask for more in her special way..

Its hard to say no to her Especially when she does her Corgi imitation

After you rub her belly long enough she will go into a that natural dog high..

Finally managed to get her to sit up for her money shot

Hope she finds a forever home soon!

More Nerus and Yellow

Seems I can’t get enough of these two They really make quite a dynamic pair, one laid back and tolerant, and the other very assertive and playful!

Of course he is also quick to kiss and make up

The boy is a real poser and demonstrates this nicely on the couch. I particularly love his pose on the right.

And sweet Momo… last I herd she has already found a home!

Some dogs really love to push their luck. Take Nerus here, who just loves to annoy his super docile and patient ‘dad’ Yellow and appears to be one of the few dogs that can cause Yellow to lose his cool

Nerus: Mmm ear wax… *nomnom* Yellow:”You better stop that kid….”

Nerus: *Noms ear* Yellow:”RARRRRR!”

That dog is in incorrigible =p

Puppy mill rescue updates

I had the opportunity to catch up with the rescue efforts on the Puppy Mill Rescue last weekend. They have since moved the dogs over to the MUCH cleaner premises over at MuttsNMittens. First I’d like you to meet Faith, who after some TLC looks alot better

Its nice to see the dogs doing better. Though they have undergone tremendous suffering its quite amazing some are still so trusting and affectionate towards humans.

Last weekend I went down to Mutts N Mittens and met this wonderfully manja ginger cat. He seems like the kind that would like to disturb you for a belly rub while you were reading a book or sit on your keyboard The best part is that he has already gone to his forever home! Here are some pics taken while I was there to photograph Fergie

He had this thing for my R-Strap as well

And I hope his new parents get him a good scratching post…

I managed to squeeze some time this weekend to head down to MuttsNMittens. There I got to know about Fergie. Fergie initially arrived with a dry flaky coat covered in scabs and as you can probably tell, not very happy. Under the care of the shelter staff, she has recovered well. They warned me she was a strong girl, and strong she was indeed. Her headbutts are not for the faint-hearted. She is extremely people affectionate but will need a firm and strong hand for obedience. Alas when I wanted to bring her out for a run, the heavens opened up and I had to shoot her in her kennel enclosure (which is quite big with an outdoor run area). I so want to go back next week to see if I can get some outdoor shots of this lovely girl!

Not to be confused with the other famous blogging doggy at kingsleydog.com I met him while he was out in the run having a little game of fetch.

Border collies + action are just too hard to resist for a photo op.

Tried to grab some jump shots but it all ended up like

When the time came for him to get back to the kennel he just lay there out in the field waiting for the ball to be thrown again!

Running and border collies really seem to go well together. This is also my fav shot from that short session.

MuttsNMittens – Master Chow

Its been quite awhile since I had the time to head down over to MuttsNMittens to help photograph some adoptable. I decided to have a session with the very furry Master Chow. He was much neglected as a breeding dog and was subsequently rescued with his mom (who has since found a new home!) He is still pretty shy around people(especially males) still which is not surprising given how much he was abused. Its amazing how much better he is now thanks to the efforts and care of the shelter staff and volunteers. When he arrived he was malnourished and had almost no fur on him, but now…

He definitely recovered well and saved from that awful breeder, live life as a dog should

Of course the trademark of a chow is thier purple tongue!
