    Sentosa Shoot: Bobby

    Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

Bobby recently won a contest called “You’re family too”  by a magazine called VegVibe , a lifestyle magazine for Vegetarians. Here is a short excerpt from his contest entry “For the first 5 years of Bobby’s life, he was passed around like a toy. (Owner >> SPCA >> someone took him from SPCA.. before he came to us) He wasn’t allowed in the house and wasn’t given his daily walk. Despite all these, he is still extremely trusting towards humans (can’t say the same for big dogs). He is the greediest Shih Tzu ever, and he eats anything and everything.”

That last bit proved quite useful during the shoot as his “Mom” told me he would much prefer to laze around the beach if there was no food involved. True enough we started with some stationary shots to get him warmed up..

He does look quite dashing in that hat though he has other thoughts about that…

Then to perk him up, it was time to break out the cheese :D

Even got him to run a little :D

Once he took to the sea though he was quite different.. he did shrink by about 50% :D

He also liked chaing his little lamb around, but after one failed attempt to grab it, he ended up with a mouthful of sand and quickly lost interest..

We ended off with  a large family photo of Bobby and his friends :)

Congrats again on winning the contest :D

    Weekend shoot: Changi Beach Park

    Saturday, August 20th, 2011

I had a fun shoot last weekend with 5 adorable dogs :) While I must admit that I am a big dog person, small dogs seem to cram all the energy and personality of a big dog into a more compact package :)

First up was a grand old dame Dene who had to stay indoors due to her old age. Still game to try and pose a little :)

    Next up was Goro..

Who has a lovely head profile :)

Next up we have the trio of Shasha , Muffin and Miki!

Miki is getting on in years and cannot see very well but still loves hangin out outdoors with her friends :)

Still plenty of life in her yet :)

Muffin was a little skittish at first but warmed up quickly..

She really knows how to strike a pose too!

Undoubtedly the star for that day was Shasha.

She does have this thing for badminton shuttlecocks though..

      Like really really likes them

She is also learning from Muffin on how to work that look :D

    MnM: Sunday, Boojay and Snooki

    Thursday, January 20th, 2011

I met adoptable dogs over at MuttsNMittens last weekend. These few are still in “quarantine” and are not in the main kennels yet and all have some sad stories behind them.

First up is Boojay. He was found abandoned in a a much worse state near the shelter and is suspected of being used used as a breeding stud.

He has a bad case of Demodex which is the cause of all those rashes/patches as well as dry eyes both of which need constant care until it stabilizes. If you think you have the means to care for him or know someone who do drop them an email or message :)

Next up is Snooki who was given up by her previous owners due to her skin problems. In case you haven’t guessed she is a schnauzer!

And next up is little Sunday. She was a victim of a hit and run accident which left her legs and spine badly damaged. She has recovered the use of her hind legs much to the vet’s surprise but is still weak. It is still not known if they require her legs to be amputated but lets hope not :\

She is still very timid and given what she has endured its not surprising that she will take awhile to warm up to other people or dogs. She still starts at sounds and is very nervous when she hears cars. Lets hope she settles down soon with the love and care from the shelter folks!

If you think you have the time, dedication and patience to take care of these special needs doggies do drop by MuttsnMittens :)
